The latest managed Planet Layer 2 switches, the GS-5220-16S8C and GS-5220-16S8CR models provide high performance and hardware static IPv4/IPv6 Layer 3 routing and 24 ports of 100/1000Base-X dual-speed SFP in a 1U chassis. With these features, switches are able to connect to different VLANs and different IP addresses to create a secure network, flexible management and long-range installation. Thanks to fiber optic slots, the switches can flexibly cooperate with appropriate SFP transceivers to provide connectivity over a distance of up to 120 km via a fiber optic link. Switches are ideal for networking in small and medium-sized businesses, campuses, enterprises and large workgroups by providing high performance, affordability, long-distance connectivity and stable connection quality.

Intelligent diagnostic mechanism of SFP

The SFP slots in the GS-5220-16S8C and GS-5220-16S8CR support 1000Base-SX/LX or 100Base-FX fiber optic transceivers, the distance can range from 550m to 2km (multi-mode fiber) or even 10/20/30/40/50/70/120km (single-mode or WDM fiber).
