FAQ- Questions and answers on how to clean the carpet
Jak clean carpet without steam cleaning device
The first will be a method that uses a vacuum cleaner plus baking soda for or dish soap.
Cleaning products are needed: baking soda or dish soap (alternatively, you can use the same product that is used in steamers)
Tools needed: Old toothbrush, brush, clean cloth or towel and bucket
Here are the steps you need to take to clean your carpet without using a steam cleaner:
Prepare a bucket of warm water and your preferred cleaning tool.
Vacuum the entire area you want to clean to get rid of dirt and dust.
If using baking soda, sprinkle the stain until completely covered. If you use dish soap, measure the stain size and use 1 tablespoon per 15 to 20 cm stain.
Put it around until you see air bubbles.
Using an old toothbrush, toothbrush, cloth or towel, gently scrub the stain with warm water.
Do not completely soak the floor, just moisten it to remove dirt/spots.
Turn on the fans or open nearby windows to allow the carpet to air dry.
After drying, vacuum again.
Method 2
Buying or renting a steam cleaner machine is not the only way to remove stubborn stains. If you have a mess to clean but don’t want to run to a specialized store, you may be wondering how to clean your carpet without a machine. The good news is that if you have a vacuum cleaner, you can do it without problems.
You will need two tools: a scrub brush with stiff bristles (the largest you have – rubber works best) and an aerosol bottle.
You will also need the following tools:
Mixture of water and detergent
Table salt (sea salt, kosher salt – all types are suitable! )
Baking soda
A few old rags or terry cloth towels. (Using an old shirt can do it too).
Here is how to clean the carpet:
Start by mixing a little soap (1/8 teaspoon) with water in an aerosol bottle. Do not shake it excessively, but let it mix.
Sprinkle baking soda and kitchen salt over the area you want to clean; you don’t have to cover it completely.
Spray the soap and water mixture lightly onto the same area. Leave for a few minutes.
Lubricate the carpet in one direction with a brush. Hair and dirt accumulate, making them easy to collect.
If there is still hair/dirt, move 90 degrees from the original direction and start over.
Press the towels into the carpet, allowing you to saturate it with water.
After the area is dry, empty the soap mixture from the aerosol bottle, fill it with plain tap water and lightly spray the carpet again.
Press the fabric towels back into the liner. If you are cleaning a small area, put a few heavy objects on the cloths and let them lie down for a while.
This technique is best for spot cleaning stains, but if you have a large enough brush, it’s easy to use it for the entire room.
This method is completely safe to use when the carpet is in contact with children and pets. Also, instead of smelling like heavy detergents (as it happens when you use a carpet cleaner), carpets will smell beautiful!
How to Clean a Carpet with Natural Measures
Chemicals and cleaning products used to clean carpet can sometimes be too strong for people who have sensitivity to certain ingredients. Instead of spending hours Google “how to clean your carpet naturally,” why not try one of these tips?
Vinegar, dish soap and water. Mix a tablespoon of soap in relation to a quarter of warm water, then add 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar. This is a good general cleaner. Make sure the solution has been tested on a small, inconspicuous spot on the carpet before applying it to the stain.
Club soda acts as a cleaner when sprayed on carpet. Great for removing stains from blood and wine. Apply a small amount of soda to the stain, then with a dry cloth or paper towel, dry the surface until the stain is removed. Carpet fibers should be rubbed, not scrubbed.
You can wash the carpet using a mixture of warm water and a few drops of natural liquid soap. This soap is suitable because it is non-toxic, but it is strong enough to remove dirt and other impurities. Using a clean cloth, wash the carpet with a solution and dry the surface, using a dry towel to drain as much water as possible.
How to clean a carpet with snow
Yes, snow cleaning is an option during the winter months. As it turns out, the white substance that is the bane of our existence in February is actually one of the best cleaning agents in nature.
This “vacuum cleaner” works best on smaller rugs that are made by hand or from antique wool, but it can also be used to clean larger, heavier rugs if you have a few helping hands. For best results, use dry, loose snow.
Here’s how to clean your carpet from snow in five easy steps:
Remove the carpet outside and shake it to throw away as much dirt as possible. Allow it to lie down for about 30 minutes to acclimatize to a lower temperature.
Apply three to five centimeters of snow to the top of the carpet, using a broom to distribute the snow evenly.
“Shop” the snow-covered carpet using the flat side of the broom. Ammonia in the snow will react with cold air, causing dirt hidden in the depths of the carpet to harden.
Let the snow lie on the carpet for 15 to 20 minutes. Then flip it over and repeat steps 1 through 3 with the other side.
Remove as much snow as possible before hanging the carpet for 20 to 30 minutes. Eventually, the snow will evaporate without leaving the carpet wet.
