What to measure to choose the perfect harness for your cat?

2 Circumference of the front part of the body – shoulder girdle

It's not the neck! Measure a little lower – where the neck ends and the shoulder blades begin.

➡ It is through this opening that the cat puts its head, so it must be wide enough to pass without resistance, but fitted enough not to slip off during movement.

✨ Leave only small clearance – braces should adhere to the body, but not compress. Too loose? The cat can slip out.

3 Chest circumference – just behind the front paws

This is the widest place of the torso – this is where the braces are fastened.

➡ Measure in a standing or natural position without tightening the measuring cup.

✨ Fit tight enough so that the harness does not move sideways, but with a slight margin so that the cat can breathe and move freely.

What do the dimensions in the table mean?

1 Length of dorsal strap

It's a strap running through the back, connecting the front and back of the harness.

➡ It does not adhere directly to the body, but affects the overall position of the harness.

✨ In cats, this element cannot be too long (because the braces will twist) or too short (because they will pull).

2 Shoulder girth (front part)

This is the hole through which the cat puts its head.

➡ Measured around the chest, just behind the neck, above the shoulder blades.

✨ Key for safety – too loose = risk of escape, too tight = discomfort. It has to be close to the body, but without pressure.

3 Chest circumference (rear part)

This is the place where the braces are fastened around the torso, just behind the front paws.

4 Length of sternum strap

The strap running under the belly, between the front paws – connects the front and back.
