➡ PLANTING HYDRANGEAS:

⭐ We plant bushes in places not exposed to high sunlight and sheltered from the wind.

⭐These plants like shaded areas, with an acidic and slightly acidic substrate - pH ranges from 4,5-5,5. The corresponding pH values for blue varieties are 4,5-5,0, and for pink and red varieties are 5,5.

⭐Hortensions can be planted throughout the growing season, from spring to late autumn.

⭐Flowers planted in spring require abundant watering.

⭐Most species and varieties of hydrangeas bloom in summer and autumn, so the transplanting procedure should be carried out in early spring.

⭐Hortensions poorly tolerate low temperatures (especially garden hydrangea).

➡ WATERING:

⭐Due to its size and abundant flowering, hydrangea requires care for the proper humidity of the substrate, which is associated with proper watering.

⭐These plants feel a lack of water, especially during flowering.

⭐Hortensions are best watered with soft water, which will not contribute to deacidification of the substrate.

⭐ Plants need regular watering, and during the summer heat they should be watered 2-3 times a day.

➡ FERTILIZATION:

⭐ Proper fertilization of hydrangeas provides nutrients necessary for the proper functioning of the plant and its growth.

⭐Basic nutrients i.e. Nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium have a positive effect on the growth and appearance of the bush and better coloration of flowers.

⭐ During the growing season, hydrangeas require proper acidification of the earth.

⭐Shrubs are fed from spring and throughout the flowering period.

⭐The fertilization procedure is performed by the end of August at the latest, constant supply of nutrients will delay the woodiness of the shoots and expose the plant to its freezing.

➡ PRUNING:

⭐Bouquet hydrangeas should be pruned every year, this should be done in early spring over the fourth bud of each shoot.

⭐Garden hydrangea which is distinguished by pink, blue or white flowers does not require cutting and shortening.

⭐In early spring, it requires only a gentle correction, removal of frozen or diseased shoots, and after flowering, removal of inflorescences.

⚠ Attention! If we cut the shoots of garden hydrangea near the ground, the bush will not bloom

➡ WINTER STORAGE:

⭐After the leaves fall, hydrangea bushes should be properly protected against winter, e.g. wrapping them with agrotextile, or covering the lower part of the bush with bark or peat.

⭐This treatment is performed in order to protect against bad weather conditions that can damage the plant, freeze flower buds, which will lead to a lack of flowering.

⭐We should start covering the hydrangeas before frosts. It is very important to remove damaged and diseased shoots before covering the hydrangea.

✔ Fertilizer is applied sprinkly, evenly over the entire surface of the flower bed with plants.

✔ Fertilizer is used at a dose of 20-60 g/m2.

✔ Fertilization should be repeated 2-3 times at intervals of approx. 4-6 weeks from the start of vegetation until mid-July.

➡ Fertilizers should be used in a sustainable way, and fertilization should result from the needs of the plant and the abundance of the substrate.

➡ Fertilizer should be prevented from entering surfaces not intended for fertilization.

➡ Store the fertilizer in closed, original packaging, in dry rooms, away from food and feed, out of reach of children.

➡ During storage and transport, protect against heat, direct sunlight, moisture and mechanical damage to packaging.
