Complex drone operations require a reliable communication infrastructure. The DJI O4 Ground Station was created to support activities carried out in the DJI Enterprise ecosystem, ensuring stable transmission even in demanding environments. The use of 12-antenna architecture, support for Gateway and Relay modes, and intelligent frequency band management help reduce the impact of interference and coverage issues. The whole is enclosed in a resistant construction adapted to long-term, almost maintenance-free operation around the clock.

Stable transmission even in vast areas

At the heart of the system is an efficient RF module that increases the range of communication and improves the ability to penetrate the signal through obstacles. Thanks to this, it is possible to maintain a secure connection even in densely built-up urban areas. The improved signal-to-noise ratio provides higher receiver sensitivity, supporting reliable operation even in areas with high electromagnetic interference. O4 Ground Station uses 12 internal and external antennas with horizontal and vertical polarization, which allows you to realize omnidirectional transmission. This solution helps to maintain the continuity of the connection regardless of the location of the drone relative to the station, which is particularly important during missions conducted in large areas, where stable communication directly affects the safety and efficient course of operations.

Intelligent connectivity and accurate positioning

Urban environments are often full of sources of radio interference, which is why DJI O4 Ground Station automatically selects the most appropriate transmission bandwidth from the available frequencies (including 2,4 GHz, 5,2 GHz and 5,8 GHz). This allows you to maintain a smooth image transmission without any quality drops or unwanted interruptions. Combined with the DJI Matrice 400, the system can provide stable transmission over distances of up to 25 km, paving the way for tasks in very large areas. The built-in RTK module supports 19 frequencies and five GNSS systems, thanks to which it quickly obtains positioning data also in more difficult locations, such as city centers or areas overgrown with dense vegetation. Access to location information with centimeter accuracy increases flight safety and supports the most demanding missions.

Gateway mode – greater freedom of operation

Gateway mode allows stations to work directly with DJI FlightHub 2 using an Ethernet connection or DJI Cellular Dongle 2 module. The system configured in this way ensures image transmission with low latency, high bandwidth and long range. Thanks to this, the O4 Ground Station does not have to be in the immediate vicinity of the DJI Dock 3, which allows you to expand the area of activities more effectively. An additional benefit is the Virtual Cockpit available in DJI FlightHub 2, which allows you to remotely take control of the drone within the range of the station. Thanks to this, the pilot can react to changing conditions and modify the course of the mission depending on the situation.

Signal Map – better infrastructure planning

The Signal Map feature available in DJI FlightHub 2 creates a graphical map of signal quality based on data obtained during flights. This allows you to quickly find places with weaker transmission coverage and more accurately assess the actual coverage of your communication infrastructure. Such information facilitates the optimal deployment of ground stations and more effective communications at key points. As a result, it is easier to prepare further operations carried out in large or particularly demanding areas, increasing the reliability of the entire system.

Relay mode – stable connectivity even in problematic locations

In places where terrain or bodywork hinders direct communication with the drone, the DJI O4 Ground Station can work as a relay point in Relay mode. Placing the device, for example, on a hill or elevated structure allows you to effectively extend the transmission range. This solution works especially well during activities carried out in valleys, mountainous regions or densely built-up parts of cities. In addition, compatible DJI Dock controllers and platforms can automatically search for and connect to the station within the available signal. Thanks to this, one device can successively operate different drones – without the need to expand the infrastructure with additional elements.

Ready to work year-round in a challenging environment

The DJI O4 Ground Station is designed for long-term operation in demanding outdoor conditions. The IP67-compliant housing effectively protects components from dust and water, and the operating temperature range from -40°C to 55°C allows operation both in severe frosts and in hot weather. The structure is also equipped with lightning protection and grounding systems in accordance with EN/IEC 61643-21 Category C, which helps to reduce the risk of damage during storms. Also noteworthy is the cooling system without fans. What’s more, the automatic restoration function after power outages or software errors allows you to continue operating without the need for manual intervention.

Effective energy management

When operating in Gateway mode, the device automatically goes into hibernation when it is not connected to any drone. During standby, the power consumption is only about 7W, which helps to reduce power consumption with long-term operation. In places without access to the power grid, it is also possible to use DJI Power solutions or compatible photovoltaic installations from other manufacturers. This allows you to conduct operations for a long time – also in remote locations.

Open ecosystem – even more integration opportunities

The new generation of ESDK 2.0 and Cloud APIs using MQTT communications make it easy to integrate DJI O4 Ground Station with external solutions and create systems tailored to the needs of specific industries. The station can, among other things, work with Remote ID and ADS-B receivers from other manufacturers. This allows you to monitor the movement of aircraft near the infrastructure in real time. Thanks to this, users gain a broader picture of the operational situation and can more effectively take care of the safety of airspace. In addition, the station allows you to connect up to four standard IP cameras and works with ONVIF and GB/T 28181 protocols. It also allows you to transfer images directly to DJI FlightHub 2 along with synchronizing alarms. Operators can also remotely control PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) functions, giving them more control over the observed area.

Wide compatibility with DJI Enterprise solutions

The station is designed to work effectively with the latest DJI Enterprise products. In Gateway mode, it supports DJI Dock 3, while in Relay mode it can work with DJI Dock 3, DJI Matrice 400, DJI Matrice 4E, DJI Matrice 4T, DJI Matrice 4D, DJI Matrice 4TD and DJI FlyCart 100. Such wide compatibility allows you to use the device as a central element of an extensive operating environment.
