Description of the item:

• PRAKTIK CHARGER 8 is an electronic rectifier for charging 6 and 12 volt acid batteries: WET (liquid - acid), GEL (gel), MF (maintenance-free), AGM (with fiberglass mat), EFB (for vehicles with Start-Stop system)
• The rectifier has a microprocessor control system, provides automatic shutdown when the required voltage is reached on the battery and automatic resumption of charging after the voltage drops on the battery.
• With each switch on, the rectifier automatically sets the last remembered parameters (helpful for repeated use and power grid failures).
• Cold battery charging function: optimizes charging at very low temperatures (low temperatures can adversely affect the chemical structure of battery components).

The 9-step charging process ensures optimal battery charging conditions:

• STAGE 1 - DIAGNOSTIC - analyzes the battery and checks whether it can accept charging current; prevents charging the damaged battery.
• STAGE 2 - RECOVERY CHARGE – Low voltage batteries are pre-charged with low current but with increased voltage; very discharged batteries can be restored to a usable state and this ensures longer battery life, the stage is skipped if the battery is minimally discharged and in good condition.
• STAGE 3 - SOFT START - the rectifier gradually increases the charging current to reach the set charging current.
• STAGE 4 - PULSE CHARGE - the battery is charged with pulse current (pulse fluctuations take place in the DC current range).
• STAGE 5 - RECONDITIONING – the preparatory stage for charging in the bulk charge stage.
• STAGE 6 - BULK CHARGE – charging with a constant current value to the previously set voltage (14.4÷14.7V).
• STAGE 7 - ABSORPTION CHARGE – after reaching the required degree of battery charge, there will be a change to constant voltage (CV) charging and the charging process will be completed.
• STAGE 8 - EVALUATION DIAGNOSTIC – automatic monitoring of battery voltage after charging.
• STAGE 9 - MAINTENANCE CHARGE – stage supporting the battery (float) and monitoring its condition; resumes charging with reduced current if necessary.
