Microprocessor
The AEG LT20 battery charger is equipped with a microprocessor, which makes the rectifier fully automatically adjust the charging current, diagnose the battery and show possible failures.
After selecting the type of charged battery: 12V or 24V, the rectifier automatically recognizes the capacity of the battery, its state. Based on this data, the microprocessor calculates charging parameters - voltage and current.
Maintenance charging
Thanks to this function, the battery can be permanently connected to the rectifier. The full state of charge is maintained.
In addition, the automatic temperature compensation function measures the temperature of the battery and on this basis regulates the charging phases of the battery temperature via a connected connection cable.
Power Supply Function
When replacing the battery or work performed on the electrical system of the vehicle, the charger supplies electricity to the vehicle, and the data cannot be lost.
To do this, you must:
1. Connect the charger to the battery charging socket.
2. Insert the charger plug into the 230V power outlet.
3. Press START/STOP button for 5 seconds.
The LED lights up. A voltage of 13,6V will appear on the display.
4. Pull out the battery.
5. Put a new battery.
6. Press the START/STOP button to turn off the power function.
7. Disconnect the plug from the 230V power outlet.
8. Disconnect the charger from the battery charging socket.
Diagnosis and security
The diagnostic function consists in automatic checking of the status and voltage of the battery.
The rectifier is equipped with the following protections to prevent damage to the charger and battery in the vehicle:
- short circuit (damaged battery),
- incorrect connection (reverse polarity connection),
- overheating,
- overload current,
- overload.
8-stage charging process
Step 1: Status examination
The charger examines the status of the battery and calculates the necessary charging parameters.
Step 2: Desulfurization (rescue)
- The charger can save most used batteries with voltages up to a minimum of 1,5+/-0,5V.
- Thanks to the protection system, the rectifier will not start charging when the voltage drops below 1,5+/-0,5V.
- In the voltage range from 1,5 +/- 0,5V to 10,5 +/- 0,5V, the charger initiates the impulse process.
- If the voltage rises above 10,5 +/- 0,5V, the charger switches to the previously selected normal charging mode, which will carry out charging faster and more reliably.
Step 3: Preload
The Battery is charged gently with a small current to bring it to a state capable of charging.
Step 4: Gentle start
The battery is charged gently with a small current.
Step 5: Main Load
The battery is charged with maximum charging current quickly and safely.
Step 6: Absorption Loading
The battery is charged at a constant final charging voltage until the current stops flowing.
Step 7: Suspended charging
Once the battery is fully charged, the charging process will be completed.
Step 8: Maintain
Rectifier supervises the battery voltage. As soon as the voltage of the battery drops below 12,8V, the charger gives a charging pulse. In this way, the battery is maintained at the highest possible level of charge.
The rectifier can be used for:
- passenger cars,
- quadricycles,
- boats,
- mowers,
- scooters,
- motorcycles,
- snowmobiles,
- Water scooters.
